Who Dey Revolution Manifesto

  • Preamble

    IN THIS TIME of perpetual Cincinnati Bengals incompetence and futility, with zero playoff wins in the seventeen seasons since the WhoDeyRevolution Godfather, Paul Brown, passed away in 1991 and handed the team to his fortunate son, the Despot, Mike Brown;

    Introduction

    WE, the members of the Who Dey Revolution, in our fervent dedication to the Cincinnati Bengals and fanatical desire to transform our hometown team into perpetual Super Bowl contenders, call for a popular revolution of fans to demand comprehensive reform to the managerial decisions and approach of Cincinnati Bengals ownership, management, staff and players, and hereby call for the adoption of the following Who Dey Revolution Manifesto:

    Manifesto Demands

    THAT the Mike Brown, Katie Blackburn, Marvin Lewis, along with every other member of the Bengals management, staff and personnel, state publicly to all Bengals fans, “I will do everything in my power to help the Cincinnati Bengals win a Super Bowl;”

    THAT Mike Brown will hire a general manager, drastically expand the scouting department and relinquish all control of player personnel;

    THAT all training, rehabilitation and medical facilities are considered best-in-class compared to other NFL teams;

    THAT the management fill the team only with players who fit the system, both mentally and physically, and are not reluctant to makes changes to player personnel when needed, regardless of cost or loyalty concerns;

    THAT offensive and defensive line depth is considered the top priority for all player personnel decisions;

    THAT all decisions made by ownership, management, staff and players, both on and off the field, are judged only by this criterion: “Does this help the Cincinnati Bengals win a Super Bowl?”

Cincinnati Cyclones - Honorary Members of WDR

Yeoxe12khve7rm68fuic The Cincinnati Cyclones' victory last night in the ECHL's Kelly Cup shows what is possible for the Bengals.  Cincinnati LOVES a winner - the Clones set a ECHL record with 12,722 in attendance.  Mayor Mark Mallory named last weekend "Cincinnati Cyclones Weekend" in the city.  The whole town was excited for the team - essentially a AA hockey team!

I am still in awe of how the city was so united in their support for the Bengals in the run up to the 2005 playoffs.  Signs all over the city, everyone wearing Bengals gear, discussion always turning back to the team.  Not every team is so lucky (or some would say, unlucky) to have a fan base who will suffer through the losses and forget about the bad times so quickly.

All Cincinnati wants in a winner - Mike Brown - will you deliver?

If you want to tell Mike Brown that you demand a winner, sign the WDR manifesto.

Curnutte Joins WhoDeyRevolution

Mark Curnette, Bengals beat writer for the Enquirer, writes today on his blog that the Bengals would be wise to draft a wide receiver in round 3 or later, echoing the WhoDeyRevolution from last week.

Curnette Curnette wrote:

"...the team is likely to spend a higher draft pick on a wide receiver, not necessarily in the first or second rounds, but they do have two third-rounders. Productive NFL receivers can be found in Round 3, for sure. The Bengals would favor a receiver with kickoff-return experience in college."

On Friday, WDR wrote:

With the Bengals acute needs for defense, and with Mike Brown content with the Bengals positioning on draft day precluding any trades for picks or players, it seems to make the most sense to draft defense on in the first two rounds and focus on a WR on later rounds.

Now that Curnette sees the wisdom in drafting a WR in the 3rd round or later, lets hope Mike Brown agrees.  Let him know by signing the WhoDeyRevolution petition here.

Honorary Member of the Who Dey Revolution - George Clooney

With all the negativity surrounding Chris Henry's arrest/release and the ongoing soap opera that is Chad Johnson, we present to you the first installment of "Honorary Member of the Who Dey Revolution."  Today's new member is actor/dreamboat/former Cincituckian George Clooney.

Watch his interview on NFL Network here promoting some chick flick masquerading as a sports movie but then talking about his lifelong allegiance to the Bengals.  (Bengals talk starts at 3:20)

Mr. Clooney, if you are reading this, please sign the WhoDeyRevolution Manifesto here to show the Bengals that we will settle for nothing less than a Super Bowl.
