Linemen: Come on Ben, get up, we need to run the next play.

Roethslinger: Wait a sec guys. The earth is talking. Can't you hear it? It is so wise and knowing and soft. Much better than asphalt. It wants to tell me something important. It says that...............Toyota has zero percent APR financing right now and I shouldn't let this deal pass me up. Now it's singing beautiful wondrous words. SAAVVED BY ZEEERO.

Linemen: This isn't playtime Ben. We are going to get a penalty if you don't get up.

Roethslinger: The only penalty I'm worried about is the premium I'm going to have to pay if I don't act now on the new '09 Corollas in stock. Listen, can't you hear the savings from up there?

Umpire (Blows whistle, throws flag): Delay of game. And unsportsmanlike conduct on number 7 for not saving money on a whole line of fine Toyota automobiles.

Linemen: Seriously?

Roethslinger: I'm going to tell Himes you wouldn't let me buy one of his countrymen's fine automobiles at a price that can't be beat.

Linemen: Cowher would not stand for this.

(Cowehr appears out of nowhere and strides up to the linemen)

Cowher: What's up here men?

Linemen: Ben won't get off the ground.

(Cowher uses his chin as a lever and lifts Roethslinger off the ground)

Cowher: You've gotta get your head in the game son.

Roethslinger: I know, but I think I'm in love. With the ground.

Cowher: In that case, are you going to Jarod?

Well, we did it. 231 Bengals heroes donated a total of $4,560 to keep these billboards up through the regular season and into the post-season. We are already talking to the billboard company to move them to better locations next month. Thank you to everyone who donated and talked to their friends, family and colleagues about Project Mayhem.

Every week, I read Peter King's Monday Morning Quarterback article on SI.com. Why do I do this? I have no clue. I really don't like his style of writing. I never really find anything out. A lot of his shtick is tired at this point. I guess maybe I'll feel left out or something if I don't read it. Or maybe I just like wasting large chunks of my life doing things I don't enjoy. It would certainly explain the whole "Being a Bengals Fan" thing.

There is one thing I must admit. Love him or hate him, King is the preeminent mainstream media NFL writer. If he mentions you in MMQB, you matter. If he doesn't, you don't matter. I mean, the guy writes somewhere near 5,000 words a week about the NFL. If he can't squeeze you in somewhere, you're pretty much irrelevant on the national scene.

What I decided to do was comb through the first 11 editions of MMQB this season. I am by no means saying that this is 100% true; it took less than 40 minutes to skim through and I certainly could have missed something. I didn't take exact quotes, but I did my best to paraphrase what King says. I don't think his words are ever misinterpreted.

Before I get to the Bengals, let's talk about a couple of selected players. Brett Favre. As you can probably tell by the brilliant photo at the top of this article, King's love of Favre is rather notorious. I decided to check in each article whether or not Favre is mentioned. In 9 of 11 articles, Favre was mentioned by name. In Week 6 King calls Aaron Rodgers' play "Favrian" and he was not mentioned in Week 7.

You may say that's not a fair representation of King. Brett Favre has been one of the main storylines of this NFL season, and he deserves space in a national column. I'd disagree with you, but it's a fair point. Onto Tom Brady. Many of you may have heard of Tom Brady. He is the Super Bowl winning, supermodel banging hunk of a man who quarterbacks the Patriots. In Week 1, he was "von Oelhoffen'd" by Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard. At the time, it was the story of the year. The only news since the injury has been that his knee may or may not be infected. Brady has yet to comment publicly. Surely, in a column dedicated to what's happened in the last seven days in the NFL we wouldn't see Brady's name mentioned often. Or so you'd think. In reality, Brady's name has been mentioned in 10 of 11 columns this season. He was only absent in King's Week 5 column.

Now that we've established that King has no qualms about mentioning even non-stories, has he mentioned the Bengals? I didn't count times when he merely referenced the Bengals as a random opponent. In one instance he describes the Bengals as "toothless" so I included that. It'll probably be easiest to do this week by week, so I'll do just that.

Says that Carson Palmer is going to be demoted to "Jay Cutler-ville" and that Ocho Cinco doesn't mean "eighty-five" but rather "eight five." Of note is that this joke was almost two years old at the time.

Bengals not mentioned.

Says Missouri and Ohio are a combined 0-12. This is the only mention.

Says Carson will play in Dallas and makes a snide remark along the lines of, "Some reward."

Says Cowboys will never employ Chad.

Says Carson's elbow is worse than being let on.

Praises Himes Ward's hit on Keith Rivers. Says he sees no hope for the Bengals. This was the first time I saw King talk about the Bengals as a whole. Mentions that Carson has called Jake Delhomme for advice about his elbow and quotes what Delhomme told Carson.

Calls Bengals toothless. Wonders how many Bengals are playing not to get hurt.

Quotes Marvin Lewis in the quote of the week. This was the first time I observed the Bengals mentioned before the last page of King's column.

Bengals not mentioned.

Says that Chad is "looney" for promoting the upcoming Bengals/Steelers game on NFLN before he had played his next scheduled game. Essentially says Bengals/Eagles sucked.

That's all 11 weeks. He mentioned the Bengals in 9 of them. That's one less than Tom Brady, who has played less than 8 minutes this
season. That's either as many or less than Brett Favre, who is one man
on a 7-3 team. He only mentioned the state of the Bengals twice from my count. The only players mentioned by name where Carson, Chad, and Keith Rivers. No mention for TJ Houshmandzadeh, who is having a Pro Bowl season. No mention for Jonathan Joseph or Leon Hall, who are quietly playing like corners on a playoff caliber team. No mention for Eric Ghiacuic, who may be having the worst season of any player in the league (not named Chris Perry division).

Some of you may call this an indictment on Peter King, arguing that he's a national reporter who should cover all teams equally and not just his favorites. To those of you I say: Let's call it an indictment on the product Mike Brown has put on the field instead.

Well Pittsburgh week has started off with about as much excitement and anticipation as the a child's first Christmas after finding out that Santa Claus is actually Dad. The fans don't care, because we know we have a very slim chance at winning. The players don't care because their season is over, and because they just played 5 quarters just to be rewarded with a fourth column in their 2008 record (after wins, losses, and almost wins.)

But when all is said and done, this is freaking Steelers week and the intensity should be turned to eleven. Without any tangible rewards that other NFL fans get to experience every once in a while, such as wins, competitive games, and not tying, I will try to lay out some things to look forward to this week. Please feel free to add to the list through commentary.

Here goes my list of things to look forward to:

More of the boycott on food and drink inside Paul Brown Stadium. OK maybe not this week, but yesterday was a smashing success. I didn't eat a bite of food, and the only thing I drank was the ice cold liquid beverage that I brought into the stadium (was it beer, or was it water? That is for you to figure out, Mr Bengal front office person trolling this website to look for illegal activity.) Now that everybody knows that you are allowed to bring your own food and bottled water into the games, we will all be able to plan on bringing our lunch to the games. We should see a drastic increase in boycott participation from game to game.

Coach Zimmer putting a hit out for Himes Ward. Hines prematurely ended the brilliant rookie season of WDR favorite Keith Rivers, and now it is time for him to pay. And pay with blood he will. My guess is that Ndukwe or White will be encouraged to go headhunting on Thursday night.

Ocho catching a bomb. It has been wayyyy too long since we have seen a deep ball. I don't even remember the last one I saw from the Bengals. This is partially due to the fact that Fitz throws like a girl, but also because Bratkowski prefers to throw swing passes to Benson as opposed to utilizing our Pro Bowl wide receivers.

Hearing Bengals commentary from Cris Collinsworth... As an ex-Bengal who has no qualms with calling it like it is, we will get some fresh honest opinions on the state of the team... and hopefully a few WDR plugs while he is at it.

This bitch.

Child Mullets

The Mississippi Mudflap

The Kentucky Waterfall

The West Virginia Warbler

The Tennessee Tophat

The Ape Drape

The New Jersey Neckwarmer

Thats all

In case you couldn't tell, the creative juices ran out towards the end of the list. But one more thing you can look forward to is more entertainment and inspiration from WhoDeyRevolution. Stay Tuned. Oh, and in case you ride the short bus downtown for work and haven't joined the revolution yet, please do so here.

Just in case you were wondering, here's an update on "The Redeemer's" favorite wide receiver, Chris Henry. Yes, the same Chris Henry who Mike Brown brought back to solve our wide receiver crisis.

After cutting Henry in April, Mike Brown alienated his head coach, fan base, and players by re-signing Henry in August, taking a massive PR hit in the process.

All that being said...Chris Henry has contributed the following in six games:

8 CATCHES, 82 YARDS, 0 TD

After all the bad publicity, driving an irreplaceable wedge between the front office and Marvin Lewis, using up a roster spot for someone who drops more passes than he catches while NOT playing special teams...after all that...Chris Henry has 8 catches.

One question to Bengals management: Was it worth it?

Another: Knowing the disaster that Henry has been on the field this year, would you do it again?

By the way, TJ Houshmandzadeh had 12 catches on Sunday.

Thanks Mike, you make our jobs here at WDR very easy.

Yes -OR- No?

Yes - The Bengals are not making the playoffs at 1-8-1. I'm sure this previous sentence caused at least one Bengals fan to have a heart attack. But the point remains that the team isn't doing squat. So why should we rush Carson's frayed ligaments back to "save the season". It would be like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

No - Uh... I have no logical argument for this. Thus, this is what the Bengals will probably do. Ooh, we could go with what certain media members are saying, "They haven't lost a game in three weeks," so Carson could put the team over the... eh... nevermind.
