Who Dey Revolution Manifesto

  • Preamble

    IN THIS TIME of perpetual Cincinnati Bengals incompetence and futility, with zero playoff wins in the nineteen seasons since the WhoDeyRevolution Godfather, Paul Brown, passed away in 1991 and handed the team to his fortunate son, the Despot, Mike Brown;

    Introduction

    WE, the members of the Who Dey Revolution, in our fervent dedication to the Cincinnati Bengals and fanatical desire to transform our hometown team into perpetual Super Bowl contenders, call for a popular revolution of fans to demand comprehensive reform to the managerial decisions and approach of Cincinnati Bengals ownership, management, staff and players, and hereby call for the adoption of the following Who Dey Revolution Manifesto:

    Manifesto Demands

    THAT the Mike Brown, Katie Blackburn, Marvin Lewis, along with every other member of the Bengals management, staff and personnel, state publicly to all Bengals fans, “I will do everything in my power to help the Cincinnati Bengals win a Super Bowl;”

    THAT Mike Brown will hire a general manager, drastically expand the scouting department and relinquish all control of player personnel;

    THAT all training, rehabilitation and medical facilities are considered best-in-class compared to other NFL teams;

    THAT the management fill the team only with players who fit the system, both mentally and physically, and are not reluctant to makes changes to player personnel when needed, regardless of cost or loyalty concerns;

    THAT offensive and defensive line depth is considered the top priority for all player personnel decisions;

    THAT all decisions made by ownership, management, staff and players, both on and off the field, are judged only by this criterion: “Does this help the Cincinnati Bengals win a Super Bowl?”

It is actually somewhat sad how delusional this man is... He has always had some excuse as to why the Bengals didn't win the Super Bowl year in and year out... This letter is blows my mind. That. Just. Happened.

Mr. Brown does not acknowledge the "cash over cap" phenomenon where based on creative structuring of contracts (the Redskins are the King), teams end up paying players millions upon millions of dollars over the cap. The playing field is not as level as you think.

I'm amazed Brown wrote back. I think we would have been a lot better off had we kept Anderson for another year. Our O-line is as bad as Pittsburgh's, and we don't have the defense to carry us through games that they do.

I predicted a 6-10 finish in August. I didn't realize that would be an aspiration at this point.

Nowhere in this letter to I see anything referring to playoffs, playoff wins, or Super Bowl Championships. Very sad.

"Thank you again for caring enough to write."

No problem Mikey, Fu*k you for NOT caring enough to change.

Can anyone imagine if we had been 2-14 a year earlier and got the #1 pick in 2002? David Carr in the house!

Seriously, how bad would it be then? I can't even wrap my mind around that concept.

Love the "their diminished performance was taking up too much of our salary cap dollars" part.

So what? Do we care if you save some $ this year that you'll not put back into upgrading the operations in any way, shape or form?

Are you telling me you STILL don't think you have to over-pay for players in the NFL Mike Brown? Ecspecially HERE?

Is he telling us that they couldn't use Deltha O'Neal now with the injuries, and if not, why didn't you cut him earlier in the off-season and get a better replacement?

Willie apparently wanted out, but most do, yet you just unceremoniously cut one of the most decorated Bengal players in it's history? And that is your explanation?

How can he ever justify his logic and not reference the last 17 years to boot? Unreal.

Why would anyone pay to see this franchise again? Is it really worth that one almost-miracle season every 15 years?
