So I'm at the game yesterday as Hurricane Ike blew through and put 680,000 (now 573,000) homes without power. There were 65 mph wind gusts and 25-35 mph winds consistently blowing throughout the game. After the 10 minute mark in the fourth quarter (y'know when about 15,000 people were still left in this stadium, myself included), the wind kicked up again.
The P.A. dude come on the air and says that the Bengals would appreciate if the fans stopped throwing stuff on to the field.
SAY WHAT?
Sitting up in the top deck, you saw the following:
* Pizza boxes being blown off the ground and down the stands (including the one that stuck to Robert Geathers right before a snap with about 6 minutes left in the game).
* A ridiculous amount of paper and cups whipping through the stands - the cups were hurting people.
* Hats being blown off peoples' heads and falling into the lower bowl.
But yes Bengals officials, we were throwing stuff on to the field. This have convinced me that the Bengals don't even watch the game on the field, they probably just watch the CBS feed. Either that, or Mike, Katie, and Troy were feeling that the fans were expressing themselves and had the P.A. dude nip this in the bud.
Meanwhile, my son keeps saying the word "Bang-goos" and I am thinking, what am I doing to this child?

LMAO!
That's priceless......hurricane winds blowing crap all over the stadium and they make an announcement. Surprised they didn't demand the remaining fans walk around the stadium with convict bags and pickup sticks to clean up.

So you're the guy who stayed until 6 minutes left in the fourth quarter.
