Blackburn Defends Henry Signing

At a recent Business Courier "Bizwomen's" breakfast in Newport Kentucky (sounds like a blast), Katie Blackburn touched on the topic of re-signing Chris Henry to a 2 year deal. Her comments are as follows:
“I am the one with a little bit of a soft heart. This is his best opportunity to have any chance of success in life. He is relatively young, and maybe he will mature... I am for taking the chance and helping the guy. I am rooting for him."
She also added that if something goes wrong with Henry, the Bengals franchise will weather the storm. Not sure what she means by weather the storm (ie they will boot Henry, or just give him another chance) but I know that this does not bode well for any of us at WDR. I was previously in the group of people that believed the Bengals would IMPROVE their decision making after the departure of Mike Brown. But it looks like we are just getting started. A wise man once told me that it can take many generations to destroy a great organization that was created in just one. So if Mike cant do it, by God, Katie will try her hand at sucking the life out of them...
This is bad news. I am among those that believes the thesis that once Mikey dies Katie will hire a GM and I hoped she had better judgment.
I still think she will hire a GM though. She will not want to keep taking the heat that will come down on her if the Bengals continue to lose year after year.

Is this where someone asks rhetorically, "Won't someone please rid me of this meddlesome owner?" Like, maybe at a convention of Junior Arsonists and Animal Torturers?
