In a "They Can't Possibly Be That Stupid" breaking story, ESPN.com's James Walker is reporting that Chris Henry is en route to Cincinnati to resign with the Bengals.
In case loyal WDR readers were wondering, we first reported on August 6th that Mike Brown and Marvin Lewis were in the midst of a not-so-subtle tussle over re-signing Henry. Then later that night, we received word from a source on the Bengals staff that Henry was seen at Bengals Training camp that day. Then we begged for the Bengals to make this mistake so the blinders might finally be lifted off Bengals fans' eyes.
Who Dey Revolution never doubted Mike Brown's depravity for a second.
If the report turns out to be accurate, Brown has, once again, proven that he is more of a "redeemer" than an owner and general manager who puts winning above all else, not to mention giving a big middle finger to Roger Goodell and the Bengals fan base.
We'll see if the reports are correct soon....stay tuned.
UPDATE: Henry's agent has confirmed he will sign with the team after passing his physical. Henry will be suspended for the first 4 games of the season. Cincitucky, lock up your wives and daughters. God help us all.

4-12. Dear God

I just predicted 5-11. Then I saw the article on ESPN. I have a new prediction: the Bengals won't even finish the season. They will be banned from league play by Goodell. If you thought he had it in for us before (Odell, Henry, etc) wait until a Bengal grabs headlines for something now. He will drop the hammer so fast that Mike Brown won't know what hit him. Hopefully it kills him.
I will also predict this: barring a playoff run (won't happen), Marvin Lewis will step down as coach. He will not be fired, he will simply resign. I could even see it happening before the season is over.

Mike Brown just told a good part of his fan base and Roger Goodell: "Fuck you"

I'll just paste my comment from an earlier post:
----------------------------------------------------
If you want to take a guess at how Mike Brown responded to Goodell trying to tell him what to do, perhaps this quote from the Despot himself will give you some guidance:
"If people would confront me, I would show them how to spell confrontation."

That's what Mike Brown thinks of constructive criticism and guidance, even when it's coming from the commissioner himself. Assuming Brown hasn't changed (and he is no more capable of change than a rock is), Goodell's visit may actually exacerbate Brown's desire to sign Chris Henry.

6-10. I wish Marvin well wherever he goes.
